Looking for help with your Euroleague lineups? In Roosevelt’s Playbook we provide our recommended plays for DraftKings for today’s Euroleague event!
If you have questions, the best way to reach me is within our Facebook group The DFS Masters.
This group is the only place I answer individual questions about events. You can also leave a comment at the end of this post if it’s a general question about the sport and building lineups in general. However, if it’s a lineup specific question, the Facebook group is really the best way to reach me as I’m constantly checking the daily discussion thread on Euroleague within the group. I typically don’t see questions or comments posted to the blog until I go to write my next article.
For anything else, you can contact me on Twitter.
How I Rank Players
My rankings are based on the following criteria
- Floor, ceiling and average fantasy points scored compared to salary
- Floor, ceiling and average fantasy points scored over the last 4 games.
- Domestic league production (Flashscore Basketball has the scores and box scores to all the Euroleague games as well as most of the individual domestic leagues that each team plays in. I check the box scores for each Euroleague team for their most recent domestic league game. The only league they don’t have box scores for is the Greece Basket League. However, you can get the box scores from their site directly.
- Key injuries and educated guesses as to who will get more playing time and production.
- Odds to win for each team.
- Implied point totals for each team.
- Opposing Position Ranks
- Ownership Percentages in previous DraftKings Pull-Up Jumper GPP
I don’t rank any given criteria higher than the other. I look at it as a whole and then make my picks based on the entire picture. Each player is then given one of three categories. If they aren’t listed in any category that means I don’t recommend that player as a play for that given week.
Here are the categories:
Elite Plays – Elite plays are players who I expect to do very well on this slate. They are great plays to build your cash lineups as well is your GPP lineups and they are the pool of players that I start building all my teams around, attempting to fit as many of them into my lineups as possible.
Good Plays – Good plays are players who I believe will do well on the slate. However, I typically have some concern with them that prevents them from being an elite play. Maybe they have a solid floor but don’t have as high of a ceiling. Or maybe they have a high ceiling but not a solid floor. Maybe they might be playing hurt or playing in a bad matchup. This is the next tier that I go to when building my lineups. If the floor is solid I will play good plays in my cash lineup. However, if the floor is not solid, I will reserve these plays for GPPs only.
Fair Plays – Fair plays are players that I think have the potential to exceed their value, but they also have the potential to be a complete bust. I will NOT play a fair play in a cash lineup. They will only be played in a GPP lineup.
Finally, full disclosure, I currently only play GPP contests on DraftKings at this time. I don’t play cash games. However, what I do is I create one “cash game” type lineup. I then take that lineup and enter it in half of the entry spots for every GPP contest that I am playing on the slate. The other half of my lineups are individual lineups that I build as “GPP game” type lineups.
Here’s my chart illustrating odds to win, implied totals and opposing position ranks:
