If you have questions the best way to reach me is by asking your question in our private slack community in our PGA specific chat channel. While I can’t guarantee I will get to your question, the chat is the first place I check for questions so that’s the best way to get me. I rarely if ever check Facebook messenger individual messages so if you’re messaging me there you’re wasting your time. You can also post it within our Facebook group and tag me and if I see it and am free I’ll answer it there as well. If you really really really want one on one help (most of you don’t really need it, just read the article and ask questions in the chat or group), send a tip for $25 and I can give you 15 minutes via one on one chat at a time I’m available which is usually mornings.

This week, the PGA Tour heads up over to Scotland for the third major of the year the Open Championship. Last week I didn’t do well. Draft, I only won half my head to heads and 25% of my 3 person contests. Lost all my larger contests. My early round picks were pretty solid. I had a lot of Niemann. However my late round picks were a disaster. On DraftKings my cash lineup was garbage. I had Zack Johnson and Vaughn Taylor who did well. However I had Chez Reavie and Brandon Harkins who missed the cut. I also had Chesson Hadley and Andrew Putnam who were MDF victims. GPP was a little better but not enough to cash.

The tournament will be played at the Carnoustie Golf Links. This is a Par 71 course that measures over 7400 yards. There’s no easy way to say this but this course is absolutely brutal. They are playing in Scotland where the weather can change at any time and where the wind can get going in a hurry. It’s a long course. The fairways are very tight and on top of that there are hazards galore including several water hazards. I don’t think this will be as bad as the disaster that was the US Open but it’s going to be bad. Top 70s and ties move on after the 2nd round. The one good thing is there is no MDF rule this week a rule that killed me last week. If your golfer makes the cut you’re getting 2 more rounds from him guaranteed.

Here are the key factors that I am looking at this week in order of priority:

  • Vegas Odds To Win
  • Strokes Gained Tee To Green
  • Strokes Gained Around The Green
  • Greens In Regulation
  • Specialist Data
  • Par 4 Scoring
  • Bogey Avoidance
  • Birdie or Better Percentage
  • Recent Form
  • Open Championship History

If you are playing GPP and you’re playing less than 20 lineups the 10 cash and 10 GPP plays are good enough to build your lineups with. If you’re playing more than 20 you may want to expand your player pool. Use the tools I linked to and look at the stats I have listed.

Good luck!
